Unlike the United States, Iceland doesn’t have music labels, which allows smaller and larger bands alike to create their own presence throughout the country.
Iceland’s geographical placement allows it to absorb several North American and European influences. In fact, Icelandic artists draw inspiration from cultures around the world! The result, however, continues to be something purely Icelandic, which many artists say enhances the huge following of Icelandic music today.
