A chef since 17, Tom Coohill began his love affair with French cuisine at L’Auberge des Champs in Kentucky.Tom trained under Master chefs at the three-star Michelin L’Oustau de Baumaniere in France, the five-star Mobile Le Francais in Illinois and Ma Maison in Los Angeles. In 1992, he opened the highly acclaimed Ciboulette restaurant, which was ranked in the top 10 by the Conde Nast Guide and in the top 25 nationwide by Esquire magazine. Widely featured in the national media – including CNN,The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal – Ciboulette maintained its place as one of America’s most popular restaurants by offering masterful dishes of modern French cuisine. From 1995 to 2002, Tom also owned and operated Coohill’s Steakhouse & Bar in Atlanta. The desire to enjoy Colorado’s climate and great outdoors prompted Tom and Diane to relocate to the Mile High City.
Since being in Denver, Tom has dabbled in a number of culinary events both here and around the world. He’s hosted the Taste of Iceland in Denver in 2012, 2013 and will be hosting again in September 2015. As a guest chef at the 2014 Food & Fun Festival in Reykjavik, Iceland, Tom competed by creating three courses from Icelandic-only ingredients. Most recently, Tom was invited to participate as a guest chef in the Crested Butte Wine & Food Festival in July 2015.
Although Tom has won the U.S. Chef’s Open, the Georgia Seafood Challenge,Georgia Chef of the Year and Chaine des Rotisseurs Award for Dedication to Culinary Arts, his most treasured achievement is creating a gratifying culinary experience for all of Coohills’ guests.
