Hosted by the Reykjavik Cycling Club, the annual Blue Lagoon Challenge invites cyclists from around the world to endure the rough Icelandic terrain for a 40-mile trek through lava fields, fishing villages, and grassy plains with mountain views. The course varies from paved roads to bumpy, gravel lanes, with a total elevation gain reaching 600m.
This year’s race had a record-setting 600 participants. After the race’s end, all cyclists were treated to Icelandic meat soup and a relaxing session in the warm waters of Blue Lagoon, complete with live music and the awards ceremony.
