Take a Class on Icelandic Chocolate-Making!

This “classroom on wheels” teaches visitors the ways of Icelandic chocolate-making.

Halldór Kristján Sigurðsson has long been known in Iceland for his famous assorted sweets. Now the confectioner is taking to the streets of downtown Reykjavik to teach visitors and tourists the art of Icelandic chocolate-making. Hop aboard a special chocolate food-truck, The Chocolate Trailer, to learn the traditions of Iceland’s chocolate and make your very own pieces to take home!

The classes last about an hour and include all the materials needed to make your own Icelandic sweets. Sigurðsson emphasizes using only Icelandic ingredients from Nói Síríus so participants will leave with authentic samples. Each class begins with an introduction to Icelandic chocolate culture and some background on its history. Then participants learn how to make carefully crafted Icelandic chocolate featuring delicious and unique fillings. After the class, participants get to bring home their pieces and the chocolate mold (shaped like the country of Iceland itself) so they can continue their newfound chocolate-making skills at home.

Make your reservations now to try your hand at making traditional Icelandic chocolate! Each class can only seat 12 people, so book your time slot soon!
