Sigur Ros’ infamous recent video with a naked Shia LaBeouf has captured the world’s attention. Now, the band has invited the general pubic to submit a video to join in on their Mystery Film Experiment.
“We never meant our music to come with a pre-programmed emotional response. We don’t want to tell anyone how to feel and what to take from it. With the films, we have literally no idea what the directors are going to come back with. None of them know what the others are doing, so hopefully it could be interesting,” stated Sigur Ros in a quote on their film experiment.
To enter, make a music video inspired by and set to a track from the band’s most recent album, Valtari, using the modest budget they allow. Submissions are due by September 10th, 2012. The winner will receive a $5,000 grand prize, a Sigur Ros prize package, exposure for the video through social media channels, and a spot alongside all the other creative artists and directors in the Mystery Film Experiment pantheon showcased on the front page of sigur-ros.co.uk.
