See Icelandic Art Exhibit “Nr. 3 Umhverfing” at the Snæfellsnes Peninsula!

The project has been traveling around the country and is on display at the Snæfellsnes peninsula now through August 31.

Now through August 31, one of Iceland’s biggest art exhibitions, “Nr. 3 Umhverfing,” arrives in the Snæfellsnes peninsula! Organized by the Academy of the Senses, the project has been traveling around Iceland and popping up in some of the country’s most famous natural regions.

At each location, the exhibit is arranged by local artists who implement their roots and heritage from the region in the artwork. Taking advantage of the natural space, the artists strive to create a special connection between Iceland’s environment and the artwork.

This latest stop features 71 artists’ work, with some introducing their art for the first time. A handful of the works have previously been displayed at exhibitions abroad, but are now staged in Iceland. The exhibit is divided between 16 different locations around the peninsula, offering a unique journey for visitors to explore the beauty of the region while enjoying one-of-a-kind art.

Visitors can see each exhibit at this interactive map of the peninsula. Are you planning on checking out “Nr. 3 Umhverfing?” Let us know and share your pictures on Twitter!
