Ever partied in daylight after midnight? You can at the Secret Solstice music festival in Iceland this summer when the sun doesn’t set until after 3:00 a.m. Taking place over the course of three days in the 24 hour midnight sun during the summer solstice, the festival is sure to deliver a unique atmosphere.
Secret Solstice, an Icelandic music festival, will feature more than 150 artists both local and international from a wide array of genres. The diverse lineup features established artists as well as exciting up and coming talent. Headliners include Massive Attack, Disclosure, Schoolboy Q and Damian Lazarus.
The festival will be held at the Laugardalur recreational area, also known as Hot Spring Valley, which is located just 15 minutes from downtown Reykjavik. The grounds there feature a huge swimming pool, hot tubs and saunas, camping grounds, a botanical garden and even a theme park and petting zoo. Unlike most other festivals, the area itself will house varied food vendors, several merchants and easy access to showers. Off-site there are several hotels and hostels in the surrounding area and nearby Reykjavik offers a varied selection of international foods as well as traditional icelandic dishes.
