Icelandic post-rock bandSigur Rós has been honored with a place on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the50 Greatest Live Acts Right Now, ranking as 47th on the list of top performers from all over the world.
The article praises the band as “the most magnificently trippy rock outfit on the semi-arena circuit,” noting that “their ability to make studio orchestration take shape live is a wonder to behold.” Rolling Stone’s list highlighted “Svefn-g-englar,” a single from the band’s second album, Ágætis byrjun, as a particularly showstopping live track.
The list was compiled by a panel of writers, artists, and industry figures who voted on their favorite current live performers. In order to be considered eligible, performers must have toured within the past five years and not have announced retirement. To view the full list, click here.
