Here’s a tip for all savvy travelers to Iceland: The Reykjavik Welcome Card provides unlimited access to the public transportation system as well as access to museums such as The Reykjavik Art Museum, the Reykjavik Museum of Photographs, City Archives and Library, the Culture House with its collection of treasured manuscripts, or the National Museum which are all good choices if you want to spend a day enjoying the city’s culture. For the ultimate local experience, the Reykjavik Welcome Card also provides access to the city’s many outdoor geothermally heated swimming pools. Most pools are open from early morning until late in the evening.
