RetRoBot Wins Battle of the Bands

Icelandic electro rockers RetRoBot have won the Battle Of The Bands contest Músíktilraunir, the competition won by the highly successful group Of Monsters And Men in 2010.

The contest, which took place on Saturday March 31st, also saw Þoka take second place while Funk That Shit! came third.

White Signal meanwhile bagged the audience vote, a band whose 16-year-old female drummer Sólrún Mjöll Kjartansdóttir was voted Best Drummer, marking the first time in the 30-year history of the competition that a woman has been chosen for this accolade. Kjartansdóttir is also taking part in the international drummer competition ‘Hit Like A Girl’.
