The LAVA Centre, opening June 1, is Iceland’s largest volcano and earthquake exhibit. It features an interactive exhibit exploring the art and science of geology and the volcanic system in Iceland and will help educate visitors about the epic forces of nature that shape our planet and created Iceland over 20 million years ago.
LAVA is located in Hvollsvöllur, a short drive away from Reykjavik, which makes it the perfect destination for a short day tour. After learning all you can about volcanoes and earthquakes, grab something to eat at the centre’s restaurant or climb to the top of the building for stunning 360° views of Hvollsvöllur from the centre’s viewing platform!
