Pink Iceland plans the first wedding at an active volcano on the Reykjanes Peninsula

Adventurous couples are flocking to Iceland for a wedding unlike any other.

Following the recent volcanic eruption of Mount Fagradalsfjall on the Reykjanes peninsula, adventurous couples have been getting in touch with representatives from Pink Iceland to plan weddings at the site of the active volcano. Recently, the organization planned the very first volcanic wedding at Mount Fagradalsfjall!

In one short week, the Pink Iceland team found a loving couple ready to say their “I dos” who were up to the adventure of being the very first couple married at this active volcano and performed the unique ceremony. Pink Iceland was completely prepared with an officiant, a film team to capture the iconic moment, packed meals and champagne for the grooms to enjoy along the hike, and a pop-up tent for the grooms to change into their wedding suits.

The beautiful ceremony was performed in the middle of lava waterfalls, lava river and in front of one of the craters – it couldn’t have been a more perfect setting!

Over the years, the experts at Pink Iceland have crafted numerous adventurous weddings. From weddings in waterfalls, to weddings on cliffs, and all throughout Iceland’s stunning nature, Pink Iceland has seen it all. Even still, the sudden influx of Icelanders wanting to be married at an active volcano site is most definitely a first.
