It’s that time of year again! The 6th annual DesignMarch design festival is right around the corner, and this year’s festival will be bigger and better than ever. Between March 10-13, Reykjavik will host Iceland’s most important annual design festival as we celebrate some the world’s greatest creative talents.
What exactly is DesignMarch? This annual four-day design festival showcases the very best of the Icelandic design world and covers all fields of design including architecture, graphic design, product design, fashion, furniture, and even food design! Drawing design experts and enthusiasts from across the globe, DesignMarch has become one of the most exciting and impressive emerging design scenes.
This year, the festival will be jam-packed with over 100 exhibitions, workshops, fashion shows, open studios, and other exciting events. DesignMarch opens with DesignTalks, a day of lectures and talks by leading international and local designers and design thinkers. Past DesignTalks speakers include Calvin Klein, Mikael Schiller of Acne Studios, and Jessica Walsh of Sagmeister & Walsh.
While there are plenty of planned events activities, DesignMarch is called a festival for a reason; events are often quite intimate, which means there are plenty of opportunities to meet creative talent, talk shop with local designers, and rub shoulders with some of the most interesting international names in the business.
Still not convinced? Iceland’s thriving art and design scene isn’t the only thing to enjoy while in Reykjavik.
