Iceland’s musical prominence continues to rise and dominate industry charts worldwide. Now, three Icelandic music personalities are being recognized for their creativity and dedication to music by Nordic Music Biz! The acclaimed “20 under 30” list recognized Anna Ásthildur Thorsteinsson, Unnsteinn Manuel Stefánsson and Sigríður “Sigga” Ólafsdóttir as some of this year’s top talent.
The 20 under 30 list recognizes top performing artists, writers, producers, and those that make it all possible behind the scenes. Candidates are chosen based on their growth, influence, artistic development, willingness to continuously push the boundaries, pursue creative ideas, and run unique business models. Most importantly, they are awarded for being an inspiration to others in the music industry and beyond.
Jonas Holst, Creative at Universal Music Publishing Scandinavia and Jenny Hermanson, Managing Director Spotify Nordics, said: “After receiving an even bigger amount of nominees, we finally boiled them down to the final of 20 people we consider being the most successful and inspiring people in the business right now. Not only for being key persons on a professional level in the Nordic music business, but also for standing as incredible role models to their colleagues and for setting new standards.”
