New Year’s Eve 10K Run in Reykjavik

The annual race attracts both elite and recreational runners of all ages.

Iceland’s annual New Year’s Eve 10K is always an event to remember! Participants are encouraged to dress up and an award is given to the person with the most creative costume. Those who wish to participate can register through midnight on December 30 at hlaup.is or in person at the event location the day of the race.

The race starts and finishes at Harpa, Reykjavik’s beautirully unique concert hall and conference center. Click here to see the complete route and here to see the event page on Facebook.

After the race, which begins at noon, runners can enjoy refreshments and then watch Reykjavik’s spectacular New Year’s Eve celebrations at midnight! With no fireworks restrictions in Reykjavik, the city’s entire population (200,000 people) comes together to create this spectacular New Year’s Eve display. Check back on IcelandNaturally.com for more information on how you can catch a glimpse of the live show!
