Icelandic six-piece Of Monsters and Men will release their Into The Woods EP on December 20th on Universal Republic in the US through digital outlets.
Beginning with co-singer/guitarist Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir, who was looking to expand her acoustic act, the band morphed into Of Monsters and Men in 2010, adding co-singer/guitarist Ragnar “Raggi” Þórhallsson, guitarist Brynjar Leifsson, drummer Arnar Rósenkranz Hilmarsson, piano/accordion player Árni Guðjónsson, and bassist Kristján Páll Kristjánsson.
Crafting epic songs inspired by their amazing homeland as well as literature and personal history, the band went from battle of the bands winners to, as KEXP stated “easily the most buzzed about band” at this year’s Iceland Airwaves in the span of a year.
Look for the band to release their debut album in spring 2012 as well as an appearance at this year’s SXSW in Austin. The band also has plans to tour the states extensively, so you’ll have no excuse to not see their incredible live show.
