Katie Couric was featured as a guest on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last week. To celebrate Couric’s recent engagement and Fallon new baby, the two took shots of Icelandic Schnapps, Brennivin during the interview. Couric, who recently vacationed in Iceland, explained that a shot of Brennivin is traditionally accompanied by fermented shark meat. Also known as “black death,” Brennivin, is an aquavit made from fermented potato mash flavored with caraway seeds and cumin.
