Johann Johannsson Receives Oscar Nomination

Johann's music for "The Theory of Everything" was nominated in the Original Score category.

After winning a Golden Globe for “The Theory of Everything” soundtrack, Icelandic composer Johann Johannsson has received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Score.  This makes him the first Icelander to ever be nominated for an Oscar!

“The Theory of Everything,” which also won a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama, takes a look at the life of Stephen Hawking as he falls in love with fellow Cambridge student Jane Wilde. Johann was responsible for the music of the film and his original score is the soundtrack for the film.
