Pink Iceland, Iceland’s LGBT+ focused travel agency and wedding planning company, specializes in day tours, weddings, international and domestic events and festivals, as well as organizing tailor-made luxury travel. Throughout the past year, travel tours haven’t been as common, but the wedding planning organization has still been able to put on safe, beautiful weddings and elopements.
Pink Iceland has encouraged couples coming to get married to follow the most up-to-date travel requirements imposed by the government and take on the five-day quarantine as a pre-honeymoon. To keep themselves and those around them safe, the pre-honeymoon is also a wonderful time where the couple can rent a beautiful hotel room or a cabin, relax and be together without any outside stress and be refreshed when the wedding day comes.
The last elopement of the year occurred on December 30, 2020. After postponing numerous Iceland destination weddings due to the pandemic, this wedding was a spark of joy and inspiration for the year to come to be able to welcome the couple, “H&L”, to Iceland. The town of Hafnarfjörður was inviting when the party inquired of having their wedding ceremony in Hellisgerði, which in the December darkness resembled a fairyland and became the perfect place for an early morning ceremony. This left the party plenty of time to drive towards the South Coast of Iceland using the limited daylight, capturing the majestic waterfalls and black beaches.
