Icelandic Restaurants Get Rave Reviews

Wine and dine in the city’s newest venue, Port 9!

Port 9 has only been open for a few days, but the breakfast and wine bar is already drawing a big crowd. Start your day at Port 9 in the city’s center between 7:00am – 9:30am for an Icelandic breakfast. Then, after a day exploring Iceland’s natural beauty or shopping downtown, head back to Port 9 for an evening of wine and small courses.

If you’re looking to discover places to eat outside the city, stop by Bryggjan a cafe frequented by local fisherman and located just outside Reykjavik in Grindavík. The cafe received a great review from American actress Sigourney Weaver, who said: “The walls were lined with “Best Fisherman” plaques covered in amazing family names that were a meter long! And they had this lobster soup—very thick and hot and served with fresh bread. That saved us; otherwise, we would have all come down with pneumonia.”
