October 27th at the Icelandic Canadian Club of Toronto:
From Turf Cottage to the cover of TIME: The Dramatic Life of Holger Cahill”, a documentary directed by Hans Kristján Árnason … the story of an Icelander who changed his name, place of birth (to Minneapolis) and age, to become a leading figure in the art world of New York, and is credited with moving the center of the art world from Paris to New York. Late in life he was reunited with his mother and family in Manitoba.
This film marks the beginning of the Donald K. Johnson Icelandic Film Series, which will see these films played by Icelandic clubs across North America in a new program organized by the Icelandic National League of North America.
As a special added attraction enjoy a reception at 6 pm featuring the work of Icelandic artist Katrina Anderson. See you at the movies … reception at 6, movie at 7.
