Icelandair’s New Policy Gives Travelers Peace of Mind

Book travel confidently with Icelandair’s new “book now, change later” policy.

As travel restrictions begin lifting in many countries, travel possibilities are opening up. Still, some travelers may be hesitant to book non-refundable tickets during such an unpredictable time. That’s why Icelandair has announced a new “book now, change later” policy, designed to give travelers peace of mind when planning travel.

Under this new policy, passengers who book a ticket on or before December 31, 2020, with a departure date up to and including December 31, 2021 have the option to change their booking. If passengers wish to do so without incurring a change fee, the new travel period must be complete by December 31, 2021. Passengers should keep in mind that fare differences may apply and that the original ticket is valid for 12 months from the purchase date.

Another element of Icelandair’s policy is aimed at easing the mind of passengers who may test positive for COVID-19 in Iceland, either when tested upon arrival or given a secondary test (4-6 days after arrival). Icelandair will rebook a passenger for their return home, free of charge, after they have completed the period of mandatory self-isolation.
