Icelandair Announces New Flight Bank for 2019!

The expansion will create new opportunities for travelers flying to Iceland and beyond!

Icelandair recently announced that a new bank of flights will be introduced to their flight schedule in May 2019. The added flight destinations will create opportunities for travelers to fly to more major cities in Europe and North America than ever before. Some of these new locations include Boston, Chicago, Washington D.C., Amsterdam, Zurich, Paris and more!

The new flight bank will not only create opportunities for the airline to enter new markets, but it will also improve passenger experience, as well as flexibility in the network. There will now be options to better accommodate passengers’ travel schedule, enabling them to choose when and where they want to travel next.

This expansion will also have a positive impact on Reykjavik’s Keflavik International Airport, improving  operations by adding flights in between peak hours when ample space at departure gates and ramps are more available.

To accommodate these new flights, Icelandair has been making efforts to renew their existing fleet with the three new aircrafts that arrived this year. Early next year, Icelandair also plans on receiving six new Boeing MAX aircrafts. The company’s CEO, Bogi Nils Bogason, revealed that these upcoming changes “have been in preparation for some time now and represent a new milestone in the company’s growth for the future.” Bogason suggested that the updated flight schedule and further details will be announced later this year.
