Last month Icelandair launched an exciting new campaign giving fans the opportunity to nominate a friend for an Icelandic stopover experience of a lifetime. To spread the news about Iceland’s amazing stopover opportunities, Icelandair and Uber Boston joined forces to bring a little bit of Iceland to the historic east coast city.
Starting at 8:00 a.m. on October 16, a fleet of Uber SUVs rolled out onto Boston’s streets offering completely free rides to all passengers. Once inside, passengers were greeted by bottles of Icelandic Glacial, skin care products from Blue Lagoon, and enchanting Icelandic music that filled the luxurious rides.
To make the experience even better, 22 lucky riders were surprised with roundtrip tickets to any European destination of their choice, which also included an Iceland stopover. With a huge grin on her face, and tears of joy in her eyes, one shocked winner exclaimed: “Things like this don’t just happen to people!” The reactions and gratitude shown by these lucky riders was captured on film in this heartwarming video.
