Icelandair Adds Four Flights From Seattle to Its Weekly Schedule

Beginning May 5, 2016 Icelandair will offer expanded service from Sea-Tac.

In response to the growing demand from the Pacific Northwest, Icelandair is adding four weekly flights from Seattle to complement their current daily service, including the only two international morning flights from Sea-Tac. With departures at 9:15am on Wednesdays and Saturdays, passengers will now have more options to Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Scandinavia, including Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo, Helsinki and Gothenburg. These additional flights also give passengers more connections from Anchorage, Billings, Boise, Eugene, Fairbanks, Spokane, Portland, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver on Alaska Airlines, when traveling through their Seattle hub.

“Since Icelandair’s launch of Seattle service in 2009, we have seen significant growth in the Pacific Northwest, including the addition of new gateways in Vancouver, British Columbia and Portland, Oregon. Icelandair’s additional flights from Seattle, including the only morning departures from Sea-Tac, will not only better serve Seattleites but the entire Pacific Northwest, providing both the business and leisure traveler a refreshing alternative when traveling to Iceland and beyond,” said Thorsteinn Egilsson, General Manager, Icelandair, The Americas.

Icelandair, in operation since 1937, has a long, illustrious history of providing flights from the United States to Europe. Since then, Icelandair has continued to grow as an airline with on-board Wi-Fi access, personal in-flight entertainment, three cabins of service and two checked bags included.

Icelandair currently offers service to Iceland from Boston, Chicago-ORD, Denver, Edmonton, New York-JFK, Newark, Seattle, Toronto, and Washington, D.C.; and seasonal service from Anchorage, Halifax, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Orlando, Portland, OR and Vancouver, BC. Connections through Icelandair’s hub at Keflavik International Airport are available to more than 20 destinations in Scandinavia, the U.K. and Continental Europe. Only Icelandair enables passengers to take an Icelandair Stopover for up to seven nights at no additional airfare.
