Iceland Takes Home the Bronze at Bocuse d ́Or!

Iceland's chef Viktor Orn Andresson was honored at the world’s most prestigious gastronomic competition.

Bocuse d ́Or, the most prestigious gastronomic competition in the world, held its annual competition this past week bringing together 24 chefs from around the world. Iceland was represented by Viktor Orn Andresson, who, after spending five and a half hours preparing a vegetable and meat dish, was awarded third place!

Plated on an elegant silver tray and beautiful wooden pallets, Andresson’s dish wowed the competition’s 24 judges. This is just the latest honor for Andresson, who was named Icelandic chef of the year 2013, the Nordic chef of the year 2014 and was a member of the national culinary team from 2009 to 2014, competing in the Culinary World Cup and reaching 5th place in 2014.

Andresson’s has previously worked as the chef at LAVA Restaurant at Blue Lagoon and Domaine de Clairefontaine in France.
