FlyOver Iceland is a full motion seating experience that positions viewers before a 20-metre spherical screen, and features a film that whisks you away on an exhilarating journey across Iceland. Special effects, including wind, mist and scents, combined with the ride’s motion create an unforgettable experience. The making of FlyOver Iceland took countless hours of research, choreography and planning. The film production team shot over 30 breathtaking locations of Iceland, from Reykjavik to the most remote corners. FlyOver Iceland re-opened on May 8th for local Icelanders, and the FlyOver team is focused first and foremost on safety and ensuring the attraction enacts proper safety measures. Social distancing protocols are in place at each interaction as guests make their way throughout the FlyOver Iceland experience, from ticket desks and retail to the immersive pre-shows and the ride itself. “It’s a powerful, almost emotional experience to see our own country displayed like it is here at FlyOver,” says General Manager Agnes Gunnarsdottir. “It is a great way to slowly return to the outside world after the lockdown of the last weeks.”
