Snorri Nr.10 and Garún Nr.19 were two of this year's award winners.

On November 12, 2014, Borg Brugghus’s beers Snorri Nr. 10 and Garún Nr. 19 were awarded gold and silver medals at the prestigious European Beer Star competition held in Munich, Germany. There were a total of 1,613 beers from 42 countries registered for the competition this year. The European Beer Star competition is held by the Private Brauereien Bayern and Private Brauereien Deutschland. It was founded 11 years ago and has become one of the most desired prizes of the international brewery section. Many of the largest and most respected breweries of the world participate in the competition.

Snorri Nr.10 was awarded the gold medal in the category “Herbs and Spices,” and the Icelandic Stout Garún Nr.19 was awarded the silver medal in the category “Imperial Stout.” Dr. Werner Glossner, Managing Director of Private Brauereien, said: “With the European Beer Star Award we want to recognize beers that are special, created by hand, with a real character, that are great in taste and quality.”

Earlier this year, Borg Brugghus took home three gold and one silver at the 2014 Craft Beer Awards.
