Árstíðir is an Icelandic chamberpop group that has toured over 30 countries since 2008 and whose heartfelt songs continue to mesmerize its audiences today. In 2013, their popularity skyrocketed internationally after an impromptu performance in a train station in Germany; watch the video below! The video received over four million views and took over social media newsfeeds. Árstíðir’s style of music is far from ordinary. Every member sings and uses unusual instrumentation to enchant their audiences. This summer, the group is touring multiple locations around the U.S., including the Nordic Heritage Museum in Seattle, Washington on July 23. Tickets are $15 for Museum members and $20 for non-members.
Consisting of three vocalists, Ragnar Olafsson, Gunnar Már Jakobsson, and Daníel Auðunsson, and a violinist Karl James Pestka, their music has been described as intricate songwriting from Iceland transports you to a world of restless, driven guitars, intimate piano, and mountainous string arrangements.
