Get ready to try all of your favorite Icelandic breweries and even discover new ones at this year’s Icelandic Beer Festival! From February 22-24 at Kex Hostel in Reykjavik, enjoy a weekend filled with live music performances, a beer-oriented food menu and, of course, plenty of beer sampling from over 40 different local and international breweries!
The festival celebrates Iceland’s historic end to the 74-year long prohibition in 1989. Now in its seventh year, this annual festival has joined together beer lovers from all over the world to talk about all things beer and their methods behind creating an array of flavors in their brews. Ölgerðin and Borg Brugghús are just a few of the popular local Icelandic brands you will be able to find. The festival will also host activities like beer yoga, a meet and greet with brewers and even a “leftover party” to conclude the celebration.
The weekend consists of three tasting sessions, one each day, followed by live music performances each night. Tickets provide you with a wristband that will get you into all festival activities and priority access to the live band and DJ performances. Tickets can be purchased here.
