September 26 is your day to experience authentic Icelandic cuisine and culture without leaving New York City! During Iceland Day, part of the NORTH Nordic Food Festival, attendees can enjoy a pop-up Icelandic brunch and dinner with renowned Icelandic Chef Thráinn Freyr Vigfusson of Blue Lagoon‘s LAVA restaurant, cocktail classes with Iceland’s own Reyka Vodka led by Trevor Schneider, music, film, Iceland lectures as well as presence from Brennivin, Icelandic Glacial Water, Icelandair and Icelandic Brand Seafood. Iceland’s cuisine has earned numerous awards, and may even be the secret to the country’s happiness. Local Icelandic New York documentary director and producer Gréta Ólafsdóttir will introduce a series of Icelandic film screenings specially curated by the Reykjavik Shorts & Docs Festival.

Icelandic artist and musician Curver Thoroddsen welcomes lovers of music and visual artists to participate in an hour of storytelling and interactive music video presentations to introduce an American audience to the pulse of music and art in Iceland.
