The Hard Rock Cafe Returns to Iceland

Eleven years after the restaurant left Iceland, it’s back and bigger than ever!

Construction of the Hard Rock Cafe is underway in the center of Reykjavik, and the new location is scheduled to open this October. The restaurant will be the first, and only, Hard Rock Cafe in Iceland since the Kringlan shopping centre location closed eleven years ago after operating for 18 years.

The new location, previously a bookstore, was emptied and renovations are in progress to convert the space into the three-story cafe. 1,000 m2 in total, the ground level of the venue features the Hard Rock Cafe, and the basement will contain a bar, as well as a stage for concerts and other events. The top floor restaurant will have seating for 150, and the menu has yet to be released.

The Hard Rock Cafe is a staple in many cities around the world, and Iceland is happy to have them back! Are you a Hard Rock fan? Let us know in the comments below or tweet us at @Icelandnaturally.
