Woman At War Screening At The Avalon

Icelandic film, “Woman at War,” will be screened at The Avalon. The recent picture has Magnolia’s President Eamonn Bowles raving, “Woman at War is a blast,” and The Variety’s Jay Weissberg pointing out, “Is there anything rarer than an intelligent feel-good film that knows how to tackle urgent global issues with humor as well as a satisfying sense of justice?”

The movie follows the main character, Halla, played by actress Halldóra Geirharðsdóttir, as she declares a one-woman-war on the local aluminum industry. She is prepared to risk everything to protect the pristine Icelandic Highlands that she loves until there is an unexpected turn of events: an orphan finds her way into Halla’s life and changes it forever.

Admission to see this renowned Icelandic film at The Avalon is free and granted on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to get there early!
