Surya Vanka is a designer, corporate leader, educator and author who has worked at the leading edge of physical and digital experiences for over twenty-five years. He is best known as creator of the Design Swarms platform, for his work as Director UX at Microsoft, as a professor of design, and as founder of Authentic Design. Surya has authored books on design, and his work has been featured in numerous venues including TEDx, Form, I.D., Design Council, WIRED, Gray, Arcade, Interactions & the BBC. He has won several awards and industry recognitions, and consulted and taught design in more than 20 countries and at companies like Amazon, Autodesk, Microsoft, Nissan, REI and T-Mobile. Surya is President of the Seattle Design Festival 2018 and Chair of Interaction Week 2019.
