Haraldur Hallgrimsson is Director of Sales and Business Development at Landsvirkjun, the National Power Company of Iceland. The Business Development and Sales group is responsible for creating new business opportunities including corporate PPAs with companies investing in power intensive industry in Iceland. There is a strong emphasis on new industries including data centers and better utilization of energy and material streams from the company´s geothermal power stations.
Previously Haraldur was Director of the Department of Industries and Innovation at Matis. Matis is a food technology and biotech research company in Reykjavik, Iceland. Earlier in his career Haraldur was a ICT systems administrator at deCODE Genetics.
Haraldur´s passion is to contribute to increased value creation in Iceland based on the sustainable utilization of renewable natural resources.
Haraldur received an MBA Said Business School at the University of Oxford in 2011 and a BBA in Management Information Systems with from the Tippie Business School at the University of Iowa in 2009.
