Since releasing his first mixtape in the spring of 2015, hip hop/R&B artist Sturla Atlas has quickly made a name for himself as one of Iceland’s most exciting new acts. Known for his energetic stage performance, Sturla Atlas garnered support from the likes of i-D, Noisey and KEXP. Sturla Atlas was named Newcomer of the Year at the Icelandic Music Awards and his latest mixtape 101 Nights, a cleverly produced electronic R&B fest, has been extremely well received.
The artist has performed at just about every big stage Iceland has to offer, including opening for two nights on Justin Bieber’s Purpose Tour stop in the country. Having taken the Icelandic music scene by storm, Sturla Atlas now aims to grow his audience off the island. His resume already boasts performances at Sónar Barcelona, Eurosonic Noorderslag and The Great Escape, and in March 2018 the singer will bring his live music to the United States for the first time. Equipped with new music to preview and the same stage presence that has always been his forte, Sturla Atlas’ USA debut will be a one-of-a-kind experience.
