Matthew Curran

Backed by more than 10 years of hospitality experience, Matthew Curran possesses a deep passion and appreciation for outstanding food and drink. After graduating from George Brown’s Food & Beverage Management Program, Matthew gained experience and honed his skills at top Toronto dining establishments including Holt’s Café, R&D, and Miku, before landing at Leña Restaurante in July 2016.

From deep-rooted classics to ever-evolving, modern-day interpretations, Matthew prides himself on his expansive beverage education, and is excited to work in an industry where there’s always more to explore. Matthew’s clear thirst for knowledge has driven him to complete several courses and certifications including the Wine and Spirit Education Trust, the International Sommelier Guild and the Prud’homme Beer Certification at George Brown College.

Having dedicated much of his adult life to learning all about wine, beer, spirits, and their various histories and cultures, Matthew is committed to continuing to explore and share his expertise. Whether he’s recommending a great value Spanish wine, or experimenting with a new cocktail trend, Matthew loves to be able to enlighten his guests and ensure their experience at Leña leaves a lasting impression.
