Lytton Smith is one of the preeminent translators of Icelandic literature, having translated books by the likes of Jón Gnarr, Bragi Olafsson, Kristín Ómarsdóttir, Ófeigur Sigurðsson, and Guðbergur Bergsson. He is also the author of two poetry collections, The All-Purpose Magical Tent, which was selected by Terrance Hayes for the Nightboat Books Poetry Prize in 2009, and While You Were Approaching the Spectacle But Before You Were Transformed by It. A graduate of Columbia, Lytton currently teaches creative writing and translation at SUNY Geneseo.
