Swedish My and Icelandic Bubba sing contemporary folk songs with love and ease. Known for their silky harmonies and alluring live performances (most recently at Roskilde Festival, Iceland Airwaves and supporting Matthew E White and Damien Rice), their refreshing take on folk holds both exotic clap dancing and ancient table harp within its sultry sounds – and a rare kind of rich simplicity that both tickles and soothes. My bubba’s latest album Goes Abroader was produced by Noah Georgeson (Devendra Banhart, Joanna Newsom) and is best described as a musical travelogue; mixing Scandinavian folk tradition with American, as well as other, more exotic influences. For their next release they are collaborating with Shahzad Ismaily who has previously worked with Bonnie Prince Billy, Marc Ribot and Yoko Ono.
