Björg Stefánsdóttir has been the director of the Icelandic Art Center since 2014. Stefánsdóttir was previously the manager of the Icelandic Pavilion at the Venice Biennale (commissioned by the Icelandic Art Center) and has previous experience as a project manager and a teacher at the Icelandic Academy of the Arts.
The Icelandic Art Centers’ role is to introduce and support Icelandic visual arts abroad. The Center assists artists and art professionals realize their projects by offering funding, networking, publication and cooperation with public and private associations, organizations and enterprises.
