Watch Icelandic film Under the Tree at US Locations!

The Icelandic dramedy premiered on July 6, 2018.

The Icelandic film Under the Tree was a contender for the 2018 Oscars under the foreign-language category in January and has since been screened in venues throughout the US, including NYC’s Scandinavia House, before it made its premiere on July 6, 2018.

About Under the Tree

Icelandic director Hafsteinn Gunnar Sigurdsson’s Under the Tree is a “hilariously absurd and psychologically astute” dramedy about feuding Icelandic suburban neighbors. Baldwin and Inga’s next door neighbors, Konrad and Eybjorg, complain that a tree in their backyard casts a shadow over their sundeck. The Hollywood Reporter reviews the cast as “excellent, with each actor contributing just the right amount of confusion to the emotional mess.”

About The Scandinavia House

The Scandinavia House in New York City is the leading center for Nordic culture in the United States. It offers a wide array of cultural experiences of Iceland and other Nordic countries. The Scandinavia House provides diverse experiences, including film series, art exhibitions, concerts and performances, language courses, and more.
