Swiss-based company New7Wonders has begun a worldwide competition for the New 7 Wonders: Cities. After receiving thousands of nominations, Reykjavik has continued on to the second round of votes.
From now until September 7th, you can vote for Reykjavik as one of the New 7 Wonders:Cities. The final seven cities will be revealed on July 7, 2014.
Reykjavik is a vibrant city with a perfect combination of old-world charm and modern city life.
The colorful buildings and panoramic views of Iceland’s stunning scenery give Reykjavik a unique village feel. With great museums, geothermal pools, a dynamic art scene and an infamous nightlife, there is something for everyone in Reykjavik.
Iceland was recently named the 9th-happiest nation in the world by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, and was named one of the top 10 European Destinations for 2013 by Lonely Planet and CNN. With your votes, we are hoping the New 7 Wonders: Cities competition will be Iceland’s next accolade!
