Hilton Worldwide and Icelandair Hotels have partnered together to bring “Curio – A Collection by Hilton” to Reykjavik with two new city center hotels.
Over the past 12 months, Iceland has experienced a 25% growth in tourism with more than 1.3 million visitors in 2015. Unwavering support from Icelandair has been vital in showcasing Iceland as an upscale leisure destination. Reykjavik’s vibrant and eclectic culture alongside Curio’s unique design, unparalleled customer service and global recognition creates a one-of-a-kind experience for travelers.
Reykjavik Consulate Hotel and Iceland Parliament Hotel are the latest hotels developed in collaboration with Icelandair Hotels. In 2007, Icelandair Hotels opened Reykjavik Nordica, and its next new hotel, Canopy by Hilton is set to open this summer in downtown Reykjavik.
The Reykjavik Consulate Hotel’s interior draws influence from the city’s culture with natural building materials throughout, as well as a 19th century stonewall spa reflecting Iceland’s tradition of natural bathing. With 50 guestrooms located in the center of the city, Reykjavik Consulate Hotel offers a culturally sound experience for the modern traveler.
The Iceland Parliament Hotel will be located across from the parliament building and the city’s main square. With 160 guestrooms and suites, plus a museum displaying the country’s history as a democracy, the hotel will provide a number of opportunities for travelers to experience the rich political history of the Nordic country.
