Register for the First-Ever Iceland Readers Retreat!

The new literature event from the Iceland Writers Retreat is perfect for passionate readers.

The first-ever Iceland Readers Retreat is calling on avid readers to participate in a weekend jam-packed with literary lectures, discussions and explorations! Unlike the Iceland Writers Retreat, this conference will be focused on literary discourse rather than writing workshops. Taking place from April 29 to May 3, 2020, the weekend will engage passionate bookworms and celebrate Iceland’s rich book-loving heritage.

Participants will dive into literary works in small group settings, where they will listen to panels of local writers, explore cultural artifacts in museums and see books come to life through tours of Iceland’s countryside. Attendees will also learn from distinguished author Adam Gopnik who will share insights from his writing career and discuss his ties to Iceland.

Running alongside the well-loved Icelander Writing Retreat, this conference will take place in Iceland’s capital, Reykjavík! Participants will also have the chance to attend readings from Iceland Writers Retreat program including: Maria Semple, Ariel Levy, Gretchen Rubin, Will Ferguson, Kamila Shamsie, Elnathan John, David Chariandy, Ivana Sajko, Dan Kois, Kristín Helga Gunnarsdóttir and Patrick Gale.
