Live Video Stream of Aldrei fór ég suður music festival in Iceland

The 9th annual Aldrei fór ég suður music festival, taking place in Ísafjörður on 6-7 April 2012, will be streamed live via the Inspired by Iceland website.

The festival is the brainchild of popular Icelandic musician Mugison and his father, both Ísafjörður natives. They were both keen to showcase vibrant music scene in the remote town of Ísafjörður in the Westfjords of Iceland, and wanted to have as much fun as possible while doing it.

Aldrei fór ég suður brings together live performances from local bands in Ísafjörður with some of the biggest names in the Icelandic music scene, all surrounded by the beautiful mountain slopes and quaint, colourful town houses. The festival is free of charge, and the whole population of Ísafjörður (ca. 2500) usually partakes in the festivities in one way or another.

This year’s program includes Sykur, Muck, Retro Stefson, Skálmöld, Mugison, Klysja, Dúkkulísur, Pollapönk, Guðrið Hansdóttir, Jón Jónsson, and many more.

To view the live video stream, check out the Inspired by Iceland website on Friday 6th April at 8 pm (GMT) and Saturday 7th April from 6 pm onwards. To follow the broadcast, please visit www.inspiredbyiceland.com.
