DJ Margeir Ingólfsson, Iceland’s premier DJ, will be hosting a release party at Blue Lagoon for the third installment of his acclaimed Blue Lagoon Soundtrack. The latest installment continues the tradition of capturing the relaxing and otherworldly atmosphere of the Blue Lagoon. The release party will be held on Tuesday, June 24 starting at 10:00 PM during Midsummer Night.
Held annually in June, Midsummer Night is a popular event where people bathe in the lagoon after midnight under a bright sky during the summer solstice. For this year’s event, guests will be able to relax in the lagoon while enjoying DJ Margeir’s flawless mix of eclectic electronic gems.
Blue Lagoon has hosted music events before, including the annual Blue Lagoon Chill during Iceland Airwaves. The June 24th concert will take the Lagoon’s music events to a new level with several special guests playing alongside DJ Margeir including Gluteus Maximus, Högni Egilsson, Daníel Ágúst, Ásdís María Viðarsdóttir, Kiasmos and an electronic collaboration between Ólafur Arnalds and Janusar from Bloodgroup.
The collaboration between DJ Margeir and the Blue Lagoon started about 12 years ago when Margeir played for Blue Lagoon guests during the Blue Lagoon Chill party, an annual event during Iceland Airwaves music festival. The unique tone of his music was a perfect fit for the Blue Lagoon’s natural environment, and a CD with his music was made to play as background music for Blue Lagoon guests. With the release of his third installment, people can’t seem to get enough of DJ Margeir’s mystical soundtrack.
