Júníus Meyvant is the artist name of Unnar Gísli Sigurmundsson, an Icelandic singer-songwriter whose popularity is quickly rising. His first single, “Color Decay,” debuted in October 2014 to rave reviews. That song, along with “Hailslide” and two others, will be released on his self-titled EP available for sale July 17.
Unnar first began his musical journey in his early twenties, when he came across an old guitar in his parents’ house. Previously engrossed with skateboarding and painting, Unnar never considered a career in music during his teenage years. After learning his way around the guitar, his alter ego Júníus Meyvant was born.
