For the third year in a row, Jon Jonsson will perform in New York alongside his good friend, the pianist Kristjan Bjarnason. The concert will take place Thursday night, September 1st at 7 pm on Stage 2 at Rockwood Music Hall (Find the event on Facebook here).
Jon’s debut album, Wait for Fate, has been well received by fans and critics alike and currently tops one of the main album charts in Iceland. Last May, Jon was chosen the best new artist at FM957 People’s Choice Award.
Jon’s songs can be heard regularly on the radio and have repeatedly reached top 10 on Bylgjan and Ras 2 radio as well as the Icelandic Billboard (lagalistinn). Jon’s latest single, Wanna Get In is currently number seven on the billboard.
During last year, Jon performed at some of Iceland’s biggest venues, including Laugardalshöll and the country’s main annual festivals (Menningarnótt, Þjóðhátíð, Ein með Öllu) attended by more than ten thousand people.
The atmosphere at Rockwood will probably be a bit more calm, but Jon and Kristjan promise you a good and cozy night. If you come, either Jon or Kristjan might tell a joke in Icelandic!!!
