Learn more about the UN Global Compact and Isavia’s dedication to sustainability.

Sveinbjörn Indriðason, the CEO of Isavia, Icelandic Airports and Air Navigation Services Provide, recently signed onto the UN Global Compact alongside 1,000 CEOs from companies in over 100 countries. The UN Global Compact is a powerful statement on renewed global cooperation toward sustainability and the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. Isavia is among some of the world’s largest brands who have pledged their support.

Sanda Ojiambo, CEO and Executive Director of the UN Global Compact, presented the statement of support to the UN Secretary General, António Guterres, at the opening of the Private Sector Forum. Ojiambo said that the statement is a commitment to change that spans many borders, sectors and generations and will adapt to evolving circumstances.

“We are in this together, regardless of where we live or originate from,” said Sveinbjörn Indriðason. “Difficult times call for general support of this very important UN effort to promote equity and sustainability. These elements are foundational for upholding the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.”
