Icelandic Music App Debuts on Spotify

The free app is the first to focus on music from one specific country.

Ever since Spotify’s launch in Iceland in April 2013, the selection of Icelandic music on the streaming service has steadily increased. However, discovering tracks from Icelandic artists isn’t necessarily a walk in the park.

D3 Media has launched a new app dubbed Icelandic Music to solve this problem. The free app enables users to easily discover and enjoy a wide selection of Icelandic music and includes a diverse selection of frequently updated playlists, ranging from “Icelandic Singles Chart” to “Icelandic 80’s.” New releases are featured as well – keep an eye out for Icelandic singer-songwriter Ásgeir’s upcoming album In the Silence, which debuts January 27, 2014.

The Icelandic Music app is the first Spotify app that focuses on music from one country. It can easily be located in Spotify’s “App Finder” or accessed via http://open.spotify.com/app/icelandicmusic. Check it out to start discovering Icelandic music today!
